The article reports on the possibility that the criminal background checks service in pharmacy schools will be centralized throughout the U.S. According to Jennifer Athay of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the background checks are needed as part of the of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and the Joint Commission. Athay explains that they are centralizing the process to emphasize the responsibility of the schools.
