- Abstract
This article discusses the use of neuromuscular ultrasound (NMUS) in diagnosing cervical nerve root avulsion, a type of brachial plexus injury. The case study involves a 22-year-old man who experienced a severe nerve injury in a motor vehicle collision. The ultrasound findings revealed a C6 nerve root avulsion, which cannot be repaired. MRI imaging confirmed the avulsion and also showed additional pathology. The article highlights the value of NMUS as a complementary tool to electrodiagnostic studies in cases of traumatic brachial plexus injuries.
