- Abstract
The article discusses a court case related to the nature and treatment of various retiree medical benefits program referred to as other postemployment benefits (OPEB). In Re Fraser Papers Inc., the company entered a Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act restructuring resulting to termination of various OPEB for retirees in Canada and the U.S. Retirees claimed that they have the right to receive OPEB. The article downplayed the validity of the claims of the retirees.
