- Abstract
The article provides an overview of the seismic shift in the global film markets as an occasion to reflect and review on the movement of Chinese films and filmmakers to the U.S. It highlights "The Curse of Quon Gwon" as the earliest known Chinese-American film, James B. Leong as the first successful East-goes-West filmmaker and Anna Mae Wong as the first American with Chinese descent to be cast in a major American film's leading role.
