- Abstract
The article presents the case study of 7-year-old girl with altered consciousness, elevated carboxyhemoglobin, and partial thickness burns. Topics include soot was found around her mouth and nose but was not visualized in the upper airway during intubation for hypoxemia and airway protection; and demonstrated airway wall erythema, edema, and well-formed carbonaceous cast material obstructing multiple bronchi.
