- Abstract
The article reports that Coca-Cola will be building a bottle-to-bottle polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The soft drinks company has introduced new bottles using 5% less PET. According to the author, the new plant will strengthen the partnership of Coca-Cola with kerbside collection company RecycleBank. Coca-Cola aims to recycle and reuse all PET bottles in the U.S. The company asserted that the plant will eliminate carbon dioxide emissions equal to those emitted by 21,500 cars.
