- Abstract
The article discusses the improvement of tribal sovereign governance in the U.S. including law enforcement, economic development and protection on natural resources. The author mentions that there is also a progress in education depicted by an increasing number of Tribal Education Departments, Executive Orders and state education laws which recognize tribal sovereignty. He states that the recommendations from the Kennedy report has helped to achieve the goals to enhance Indian education.
