The Way of God L: The Princeton Vase Revisited.
- Authors
Kerr, Barbara; Kerr, Justin
- Abstract
The article examines the most important character depicted on the Princeton Vase, God L, the Jaina God. It also illustrates the so-called execution scene being played out in the court of God L in Xibalba, the Otherworld. The portrayal of God L is that of a lively old man having a broad-brimmed hat with feathers. There are only two types of cloaks worn by God L. One is a cloak with a pattern of black-and-white design of stepped chevrons and rectangles and another is a cloak of jaguar skin. The Princeton features God L sitting on his throne in Xibalba.
