In the article, the authors discuss the Hyperglycaemia and Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes (HAPO) study on the possible effects of climate change on the prevalence of gestational diabetes and adverse fetal outcomes. Topics include the Australasian Diabetes Pregnancy Society (ADIPS) criteria for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) diagnosis and how gradual warming could result in increased prevalence of GDM.
