- Abstract
An essay is presented on the onslaught of war in Colombia. It offers a history of Colombian government and examines the origin of the country's political violence and killings. The author discusses the role of Patriotic Union (UP), a political party created by FARC, in the increase of killings and political catastrophe in the country. It also relates the struggle of Colombia to pursue peace and find structural changes that makes the country more independent and less democratic.
