- Authors
Leavy, Olive
- Abstract
TThe article discusses research that describes a method to specifically target inflammatory monocytes that was shown to the attenuate disease progression of mouse models. It references the study "Therapeutic siRNA silencing in inflammatory monocytes in mice," by F. Leuschner in the October 9, 2011 issue of the journal "Nature Biotechnology." A lipid nanoparticle that encapsulated a short interfering RNA (siRNA) which targets CC-chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2) messenger RNA (mRNA) was developed.
