- Abstract
The article focuses on the estrogenic activity and various other contaminants found in the drinking water in the U.S. and its possible effects in humans after exposure. It states that in 1965, researchers from Harvard University found out that natural and synthetic estrogens were not totally terminated by waste-water treatment. It adds that though the effects of some of these chemicals to humans are unknown, phytoestrogens have been shown to benefit health and is known to prevent cancer.
