- Title
Power Plant Project Turns Water Into Revenue Stream.
- Abstract
The article reports on Charles County, Maryland, and Competitive Power Ventures' (CPV) completion of a development agreement for the CPV-Saint Charles power plant, a key step in the construction of a new 640-megawatt facility in the county. CPV is a North American power industry development and asset management company. Under the agreement, CPV will buy and use reclaimed water from the county's Mattawoman Wastewater Treatment Plant for cooling at the power plant. CPV expects to use an estimated 650 to 750 million gallons of reclaimed water per year for this purpose.
