- Abstract
Hexabenzocoronene (HBC) is a promising candidate due to its exclusive optical and electronic properties, high thermal stability, and chemical inertness. The proposed work explores the structural and electronic properties of HBC through various techniques, like TD-DFT (time-dependent) and DFT (density functional theory). The performance of HBC-based FETs and solar cells are also evaluated through simulation and experimentation. The results suggest that HBC can be a suitable one for both applications, with excellent charge transport properties and high carrier mobility in FETs and high-power conversion efficiency in solar cells. Furthermore, the environmental impact of HBC-based devices is investigated and compared it with conventional devices that use non-eco-friendly materials. Finally, HBC-based devices have a lower carbon footprint and offer a sustainable alternative to conventional devices. The study contributes the development of sustainable electronic devices and offers insights into the design and optimisation of future eco-friendly electronic materials.
