- Abstract
This article aims to describe the journey of being authorized to run the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, hereinafter referred to as the IBDP, at Taipei Municipal Xisong High School. The historical development and pedagogical philosophy of the IB, as well as the DP curriculum model, are briefly introduced. Then the article explores the challenges of the putting the DP curriculum into the Xisong local context. Furthermore, this article points out that, with a view to the need of carrying out the highly challenging IBDP curriculum, bilingual teachers in Taipei can be trained in the future to teach for academic purpose.
