- Abstract
The article focuses on the launch of a social activist project on popular education and bilingual English as a Second Language (ESL) at the Latin American community of Culmore, Virginia led by students majoring in Spanish at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Students have taught 25 Spanish-speaking adult from Culmore in a span of four evenings a week for three weeks. The project was considered as unique as it introduces critical service-learning.
