- Abstract
The article presents patch test which show changing patterns in chromate allergy. Solitary chromate reactions were infrequent and in most cases , the allergy was combined with other forms of sensitivity. A large number of workers in the building industry in Denmark were suffering from chrome allergy. In women, the incidence of relevant reactions to chromate is rising and in 1985, the ratio male⁄female was 0.9 compared to 5.2 in 1975. The reason is still obscure, but claimed sources are cement dust in charwomen in the building industry, and detergents.
