Abstract
The article presents an analysis of French philosopher Gilles Deleuze and his writings on the human face. Particular focus is given the traditional roles of the face which include sender, communicator and receiver. Additional topics include insights on the role of the human face in the book "Our Mutual Friend," by Charles Dickens and in the film "Lifeboat," directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
