- Abstract
In this work I proposed myself to approach issues related to the development of a sustainable university based on organizational changes in the present context marked by globalization and quick and radical changes. The study's objectives refer, first of all, to establishing the role of universities to become a potential agent of change towards sustainability. Thus, universities can elaborate sustainable practices, form skills to integrate, synthesize and analyse the systems, can realise researches based on the real world problems and can promote and strengthen the interactions between individuals and institutions. A core objective of this study is focused on determining the organizational changes necessary for the sustainable development of the university as well as on expressing the connections between the strategic management of the university and its sustainable development. I also approached aspects related to planning and the environment management where a sustainable university develops its activity, highlighting the changes and the environmental, technical and social challenges.
