- Abstract
In this paper, BN‐BiOI materials are prepared via an ionic liquid 1‐butyl‐3‐methyl‐imidazolium iodine ([Bmim]I)‐assisted solvothermal method. Through a series of characterizations (XRD, TEM, DRS, PC, and so on), the structures, morphologies, and optical properties of BN‐BiOI samples are investigated. The photocatalytic activity of the graphene‐analogue BN‐BiOI materials is evaluated by the degradation of methyl orange (MO) under visible light irradiation (λ > 400 nm). The results show the 3 wt.% BN‐BiOI composites exhibit the highest performance. The improved photocatalytic activity is attributed to the superior light absorption and higher separation efficiency of the electron–hole pairs by the introduction of graphene‐analogue BN.
