- Abstract
Objective: To understand the perceptions of healthcare students regarding teaching and practices based on integral health and interprofessionalism. Method: This is a qualitative research study conducted at a public university in Alagoas with the participation of students from the nursing, medicine, and occupational therapy fields. Data were collected using the focus group technique. Results: Several questions were raised about the educational practices implemented in the academic setting, elucidating the problems and expectations regarding the adaptation of the model and experiences that contrast with the model envisioned and methodized for interprofessionalism. Conclusion: It is emphasized that integrating areas of knowledge means adding different dimensions and concepts to the professional experience. Moreover, the university must address the demands, taking into account new perspectives in the approach to health.
