- Abstract
The authors comment on the study "Exposure to alcohol use in motion pictures and teen drinking in Germany," by R. Hanewinkel, S. E. Tanski, and J. D. Sergeant, published in the 2007 issue. They question why only 64 % of schools agreed to participate and why some pupils were not granted permission by their parents to participate in the study. They also express concerns about the time-span of the films selected, the depictions of alcohol, and the reliability of self-reported alcohol consumption.
