- Abstract
The article discusses the concept of bionic professional baseball players and the bodies of baseball players as commodities between 1964 and 2007. It examines the use of technology and sports medicine among professional baseball players to extend their careers, the body as a means of production, and the use of products such as steroids among professional baseball players. The article discusses the significance of the group the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), the concept of free agency, and medical procedures such as ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction (UCL), known as Tommy John surgery.
