- Title
THEOLOGY AND THE EVENT: THE AMBIVALENCE OF ALAIN BADIOU.
- Authors
BOER, ROLAND
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on the theological beliefs of philosopher Alain Badiou. The author cites the belief of Badiou that Christianity prevents the problem of the one with its initial split between two. He asserts that Mathematics seems to give Badiou the way to eliminate anything related to theology from philosophy. He notes that Badiou mentioned the statement of philosopher Benedict de Spinoza that God must be understood as a mathematicity itself.
