- Title
A Study of Disrupted Adoptive Placements of Adolescents.
- Authors
Berry, Marianne; Barth, Richard P.
- Abstract
The article focuses on issues related to adoptive placements of adolescents. The Adoption Assistance and Child Welfare Act of 1980, specifies the situations for children who have been removed from their homes because of neglect and abuse. Despite the importance of adoption as one of the most successful component of child welfare practice which offers permanent and secure home for a child, adopted children face placement disruption. It has been found that only 5 percent of relinquishment adoptions in 1986-87 were of adolescents.
