- Abstract
As in typical usage-based insurance, the insureds in this insurance agree to have their physical activites (mainly walking distance) tracked through wearable devices or smartphones, in exchange for a reduced premium or other incentives. The articles published in this special issue were selected from the presentations at the annual conference of the Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA), also as part of the 4th World Risk and Insurance Economics Congress (WRIEC) in August 2020. These five studies in this issue offer new insights on the trends and issues that impact the insurance and financial markets in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
