- Title
Therapeutic Occlusion for Ceramic Veneers and High-Strength Zirconia Restorations: Constructing Anterior Guidance.
- Authors
Starr, Neil L.
- Abstract
The article focuses on creating the correct anterior tooth form and position. It presents three case types to describe the restoration of anterior guidance. In case one, the Class I occlusal scheme demonstrates significant caries under existing maxillary anterior veneer restorations. Case two involves a patient with no anterior contact from maxillary canine to maxillary canine and a marked anteroposterior discrepancy. The patient in case three has a Class III dentition demonstrating moderate wear of the maxillary anterior teeth in association with an anterior crossbite. Two additional cases illustrate the use of computer-aided design/computer-assisted manufacture (CAD/CAM) high-strength zirconia to restore posterior occlusal support and occlusal vertical dimension and anterior guidance.
