- Authors
Futterknecht, Norbert; Jinoian, Vanik
- Abstract
The article discusses the In-Ceram crown restoration technique. Ceramic crown restorations, according to the author, have been a significant part of restorative dentistry. In-Ceram ceramic technique was developed by Vita Zahnfabrik in an effort to address that problems associated with full ceramic techniques. Such technique uses very fine aluminum oxide ceramic powder, and is said to have a high degree of translucency and color adaptation to dentin. The indications and contraindications for In-Ceram restoration are highlighted. Fundamentals of tooth preparation are also explained, including the instruments needed, procedures and cementation.
