- Title
Small company mergers—good for whom?
- Authors
Maybeck, Vanessa; Bains, William
- Abstract
The article claims that small private biotechnology company mergers and acquisitions are not being used to bolster product pipelines and to diversify business opportunities in Great Britain. This suggests that private company mergers are mainly about shares rather than business, which supports the observation that shareholder concerns are the main block to mergers that would otherwise result in technical or commercial benefits.
