- Abstract
The article focuses on the sacerdotal opportunities issues for gay people by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in the U.S. Such issues include the acceptance of gay clergies in the Lutheran denomination and the blessing of same-sex relationship. In addition, these issues have been debated and voted by the Lutheran church's highest legislative members during the Churchwide Assembly which was held in Chicago, Illinois in August 2007.
