- Abstract
The article presents a study on the new species Varotylus jairajpurii from Paschim Medinipur in West Bengal, India. The researchers collected nematodes from rhizospheric soil sample of a banana plantation at Amlichak village, after which the specimens were extracted from the soil using decanting method and Cobb's sieving technique. They also used an ocular micrometer together with an Olympus research microscope and a drawing-tube attachment to take measurements. They found that V. jairajpurii is characterized by a long stylet, high hemispherical lip and a small spirally curved body.
