- Abstract
The article describes a trematode Conica trilobata n.gen n.sp from the intestine of the fish Otolithus argenteus of Karachi coast in Pakistan. This trematode, with unique characters not previously known in family hemiuridae is characterized by having the oral sucker covered with a large cone, a trilobed, subterminal oral sucker, a long cecae, reaching posteriorly almost to the tail end, an acetabulum four to five times larger than oral sucker, and a prominent pharynx and esophagus. This species has a vitellaria that consist of 7 long tubes.
