- Abstract
The article discusses circumstances surrounding the sightings and identification of Asian Brown Flycatchers Muscicapa dauurica at Ashmore Reef within the Australian Economic Exclusion Zone in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The first occurrence which happened on October 29, 2005 has been accepted by the Birds Australia Rarities Committee (BARC). Described as a small passerine with an upright stance when perched, the length of its bill is approximately equal to the distance between the anterior edge of its eye. Several photographs are presented to show its plumage, and information regarding its behaviour is also mentioned.
