- Abstract
The article discusses the geographical distribution of the Drakensberg Dwarf Chameleon (Bradypodion dracomontanum) in South Africa. The author encountered a specimen of this chameleon while hiking in the northern Drakensberg region. The species is found in the Northern Afrotemperate Forests and associated grasslands of the Drakensberg range, as well as in the eastern Free State province. The article also mentions the need for further research on the chameleon's adaptation to climbing on rocky surfaces. The Drakensberg Dwarf Chameleon is currently classified as Near Threatened due to habitat loss outside of protected areas.
