- Abstract
The article examines the role of the Episcopal Conference in the area of social communications. It also focuses on the tensions that arise with respect to the respective roles of the diocesan bishop and the Episcopal Conference in presenting the face of the Church in the public forum. One of the few areas of competence that the Second Vatican Council and later the Code of Canon Law, has given to Episcopal Conferences is related to radio and television.
