- Title
What is the Color of a Non-Revolution? Why the Jasmine Revolution and Arab Spring Did Not Spread to China.
- Authors
Kennedy, John James
- Abstract
The author reflects on contributing factors to the lack of effect of the 2010 to 2011 civil uprisings in the Middle East and Africa on China. The author focuses on the effects of the 2010 uprising called the Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia, North Africa and the 2011 uprisings in the Middle East called the Arab Spring, and explores their lack of social influence on China. The author contends that while protests have occurred in China, citizens are more dissatisfied towards local government than central Chinese leadership.
