- Abstract
The article offers information on the diaries of fur trapper Harry Pienowski from northern Manitoba from 1925-1937 and 1942-1946. Topics discussed include a description of Pienowski's conversational writing style and the details he included such as the weather, the hardships of subsistence living, and price of fur. It also presents evidence that Pienowski suffered from health problems and injuries and lived his life in a surveyor's camp in Mile 445 of the Hudson Bay Railway.
