- Abstract
A biography of author Eliza Warren Francis is presented. She was born Eliza Jervis in 1810 and married commercial traveler Walter Warren at the age of 25. After her husband's death in 1844, she began a career in writing, publishing craft and home management manuals to support herself. She remarried in 1851 but continued publishing books, and she established the women's magazine the "Ladies' Treasury' in 1857. Details on her editorial voice and use of pseudonyms are also presented.
