- Title
Forefront of Diagnosis and Treatment of Deep-steam Mycology in Thailand.
- Authors
Supparatpinyo, Khuanchai
- Abstract
The article offers information on the diagnosis and treatment of deep-steam mycology (DM), including invasive aspergillosis and candidiasis, in Thailand. The definite diagnosis of DM is very problematic in the country due to poor host conditions and unavailability of diagnostic tests. The mortality rate of patients with DM is relatively high since treatments, including antifungal therapy, amphotericin B therapy, echinocandins, and vorizonazole, are expensive.
