The article discusses the advancements in migraine research. The use of preventive medication had no statistically significant impact on the likelihood of remission from chronic to episodic migraine when headache frequency was included as a dependent variable. There is also an opinion that a subpopulation of chronic migraine patients exists. Lastly, there have been attempts to link cortical spreading depression to the production of migrainous head pain.
