- Authors
SCHIRRMEISTER, SEBASTIAN
- Abstract
The article explores the reason why Czech Jewish author Max Brod, despite his immigration to Palestine and presence in Hebrew culture, never really became part of Hebrew literature. Topics covered include his model of the Jewish poet of the German tongue, which argued for a multilingual concept of Jewish literature, his concept of the Jewish poet, and his strategies for coping with the linguistic dilemmas and the peculiar cultural location of German-Jewish writer Robert Alter.
