Should we be switching from reusable bronchoscopes to disposable due to the risks of cross contamination? Although we agree with Morgan and McCahon that airway leads in individual hospitals may now wish to transition to disposable bronchoscopes, any decision should be based on a comprehensive risk assessment of patient safety, available facilities and cost.
