- Abstract
We develop a method to prepare CsPbI3 nanocrystals (NCs) by the addition of ethylenediammonium diiodide. The morphology, phase, as well as optical properties are studied by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The sizes and structures of the NCs are not influenced by the ethylenediammonium diiodide compared to the control sample, which is prepared without ethylenediammonium diiodide (by the conventional method). The PL of the CsPbI3 NCs with ethylenediammonium diiodide (modified samples) exhibits high thermal stability (under 100°C thermal treatment) and ageing stability compared to the control sample. The ageing stability of the CsPbI3 also increases due to the ethylenediammonium diiodide. The modified samples are optimized by the reaction time from 5 to 20 s and the 15 s sample shows the best stability. Time-resolved photoluminescence results also confirm the improved stability of the CsPbI3 NCs. This work provides a novel method to prepare high-stability CsPbI3 NCs.
