- Abstract
Dengue remains a significant health concern in the Philippines, with several epidemics occurring over the years. However, there has been a decrease in the number of cases and deaths reported in 2023 compared to the previous year. The Philippine government has implemented the National Dengue Prevention and Control Program, which includes surveillance, case management, vector control, and health promotion. Despite these efforts, challenges persist, such as the difficulty in eradicating breeding sites and vaccine hesitancy due to reported deaths linked to the dengue vaccine Dengvaxia. These challenges highlight the need for collaboration between various institutions to effectively combat dengue.
