- Authors
Allenby, Brad; Allen, David; Davidson, Cliff
- Abstract
The article discusses the concept "sustainable engineering." It mentions that the concept sustainability was embodied to egalitarianism within and among generations, and environmental preservation and protection. Although the term was classified as modern mythology, the author declares that it is based on scientific and technological discourse. The term was later applied in engineering and technology management. However, due to complexity of engineering and overcrowded curriculum, the author declares that it lacks room for additional material, which makes the teaching of sustainable engineering difficult to institutionalized. He suggests development of courses that emphasize the economic, environmental, social and cultural domains.
