- Abstract
The article discusses the use of Bayesian networks (BNs) in computational biology. It is said that Bayesian networks provide a compact graphical representation to express joint probability distributions (JPDs). The applications of BNs in bioinformatics are said to include gene clustering and the inference of cellular networks. The dynamic Bayesian networks (DBNs) pertain to networks used in modelling time series and feedback loops, in which variables are indexed by time and replicated in the BN.
