- Abstract
The article focuses on the benefits of conserving and collecting insects in India stating a hope for the revision or repeal of the Biological Diversity Act (BDA) in India. It mentions the capability of the BDA as a legislation that made it impossible for taxonomists to carry out research on the biosystematics, phylogeny, biogeography of insects and other fauna. The importance of insect sampling in taxonomic research is discussed.
