- Abstract
The article provides information on studies related to genes and genetic systems. A study by Toshiyuki Takano demonstrated that the contribution of trans-regulatory changes increases over evolutionary time without any change of selective force and that the relative mutational magnitudes of cis- and trans-regulatory changes determine evolution of their relative contribution, particularly at the early stages of divergence. Tamio Furuse carried out large-scale phenotype screening to establish human disease models in RIKEN ENU mutagenesis project. Ken-Ichi Kimura examines the formation and function in courtship behavior of Drosophila melanogaster.
