- Abstract
The article examines the impact of the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court on Frank Ricci versus John DeStefano et al. for public employers in the U.S. The lawsuit was brought by Ricci and fellow white firefighters in New Haven, Connecticut against the city including Mayor John DeStefano Jr. for alleged discrimination with regard to promotions. The court has ruled that the decision of New Haven to ignore test results for promotions to management has violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
