FOCUS ON TRAINING: U.S. Paralympics Wheelchair Rugby National Team.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the training of the 2006 U.S. Paralympics Wheelchair Rugby National Team. The team trains at the Lakeshore Foundation U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site. At Lakeshore, athletes become involved with a certified stretch and conditioning specialist who develops individualized sports programs for them, and a sports psychologist who shows them techniques to help them gain the mental skills necessary to perform consistently in training and competition. In addition, sports services at the site use equipment measurements and analyses for technical and skill technique development.
